SELF REFERRAL and Active Signposting

There are many health and wellbeing services you can go to in Brighton and Hove without needing to see your GP (or practice nurse) first for a referral.

Receptionists at Warmdene are an important part of our team and, a number of them have been trained to be able to signpost you to some of these services if appropriate.

This will help you to see the right professional, first time, without adding a delay by seeing a GP first.

In order to do this, they are trained to ask you about the reason you require an appointment. You do not have to disclose this - however, if you do, it may mean you get seen by the right professional sooner.

If our receptionist offers you the opportunity to self-refer to one of these services, but you would prefer to continue to request an appointment with a GP or nurse, they will be able to accommodate this as normal.
